Wip Wednesday-SuperStars-Slow progress

We left FL last weekend and will be spending a brief time in IN
visiting and spending time with family & friends.
Quilting will continue...

It's spring here and it's beautiful this time of the year.
Magnolia trees, crabapples, dogwoods, to name a few...are blooming at the moment and it's just magnificent.
It is also morel we will be mushroom hunting too...

Our place is very small here, so that means I will have to be creative, I don't have a design wall here and no place to put one really...I do have a tiny place where I can do my sewing though...:)

Before we left FL, I made sure that all the blocks were done (half way done actually),
and I took a picture of each block before I left.

So here is what I have been doing; I have been cropping each photo to a square, then downloaded the photos in the Mosaic Maker then print it out.

Then cut every block and placed all the stars in a way that looked good to me.

This "hands-on" method worked fine for this project, since every block is different in colors and print, easy to manipulate,  all I had to do is move the blocks around until I was satisfied with the design.
Now, all that is left to do is sewing everything together.:)

Gotta love RED

These past few days I have been working on "SuperStars"

I have been auditioning and picking different fabrics for the stars,
I keep adding and removing...It's a work in progress.

I have been buying in small quantity different reds in hope to find the perfect one for the background to realize, last Saturday, that I totally forgot to reorder more of the chosen one. Oh Bummer!
Totally what I didn't want to be happening.
But on the other hand...It gave me an idea...
To be followed...

We took a ride to the wetlands last Sunday in hopes to see and bring back some wildlife pictures...
And testing my "now fixed camera"...

It was a nice ride...We didn't see any alligators or turtles this time...Maybe next time.:)

2014 Finish-A-Long Q-2 List

The second quarter have already begun...Doesn't time fly?
Last quarter I had five things on my list and I managed to finished three (almost four)...
So I'd like to keep my list light...
I would be really pleased if all gets completed and, if not, it's all right too...

There are four projects listed for the second quarter.

1. "Fancy That"
The top is finished and needs to be quilted and bound. It should be an easy finish...:)

2. "Fat cross"
Same here, the top is completed and needs to be quilted and bound.

3. "Super Stars"

4. "Ups and Downs"
A quilt for him...Lately, I have been looking for a pattern that would not be too feminine and would be suited for a man and I think Ups and Downs is perfect for this project.
I am using most of Parson Gray's (very manly fabrics)  for this project.

Jiggery Pokery Quilt...Finished.

A third finish on my Finish Along Q-1 list.

Jiggery Pokery Quilt is I believe, a version of the Jacob's Ladder (but feel free to correct me if I am wrong) and I confess this is the second time I make this quilt. What can I say? I love it...About 2 years ago, I made this quilt in it's original size and design, the initial one is actually on my bed...It's one of my favorite so far. This one is a bit different from the original one, I had to switch some fabrics and I made a piano key border instead of the 4 patch set in diamond original border.
Kaffe Fassett all the way.

Looking through my pictures I found this one, this is a photo I took last summer in Canada when I was making it.

For the ones that might be interested in this pattern, you will find it in this book.

Wip Wednesday

This week I am working on a "Fat Cross" quilt, I quickly post about it here last week.

I am having a new floor installed in my sewing room and my understanding was that they were supposed to install it tomorrow, so I was up there early this morning trying to finish to put this one together when the guys called and told me they would be here in 40 min...Let's say things started to move very fast around here this morning...

I took these two photos before I take everything down so I don't get things mixed up here...The purpose of these pictures was to help me remember where every piece go so I can put it back together without too much trouble, it was not intend for a post...(I know it's not very good, kinda blurry). But since I can't sew for now, I got on the computer and came across Lee's blog and here I am...

Half way done...

Here is a peek at the new floor...
See "the won't be missing" pink carpet on the right?

Guess what I will be doing tonight?

Scrappy Trip Around The World...Finished

Another finish on my FAL 2014-Q1 list, Scrappy Quilt Around The World is done.

This one was interesting and fun to make, I am looking forward to make an other one in the near future...Scrappy Quilts are my absolute favorites.

In this quilt, I used mostly Denyse Schmidt fabrics (different collections), lots of scraps and I confess...I did make extra trip to the store to get more fabrics...

Vintage Holiday Quilt...Finished

Vintage Holiday Quilt is finally done, Yea me.:)
This one was #1 on my 2014 Finish-A-Long Goals Q-1 list. It's been completed for a few days now, all was left to do was taking pictures...Which I kept postponing, the weather wasn't very cooperative this past week...To cloudy, to windy, to rainy...The lighting is terrible inside, so I just rather wait and take the pictures outside. Happy! Happy!

Here, at last, a couple of pictures.

I'm glad this one is finally done, looking forward to enjoying it next Christmas.:)
