Scrappy Hexagon Quilt :: Finished

It always feels good to finish a project, but this one, this one, in particular, felt great! It was the oldest unfinished project I had laying around the house, it took eight years to bring to completion. It was put aside a few times as you can imagine. I still can't believe it's finished.

This quilt has traveled quite much over the recent years; it kept my hands busy on many road trips, many getaways. I can't think of a better take-along project, everything I needed fit in a small plastic bin. This quilt is far to be perfect; there wasn't much on the subject when I started, so I learned as I went. I made a few mistakes in the beginning which I choose to embrace.
Maybe I was hopping they would disappear in the magic wash ... :-))
You can read more about it HERE.

The pictures above were taken at Fort Christmas Historical Park in FL.

Here's to another favorite; the texture is incredible, she is very soft and comfy!

2016 FAL Q4 - The list

I managed to finish My Scrappy Hexagon quilt last quarter right on time for the link up, but Hurricane Matthew left us without power (and no internet) for a few days; I was not able to post my only finish. That's part of life, isn't it? All is good; we were lucky; there was no damages, just clean-up to do.

Without further ado, here's my list for the last quarter of 2016. Three projects on my list for this quarter:

1. Christmas Double Wedding Ring

The top is done; I will probably hand quilt it as I don't feel ready to tackle this one on the longarm. It might be finished by Christmas or it might not!

2. Scrappy Christmas Trip Around the World

The top is finished, it needs to be quilted, and hopefully it will be done in time for Christmas; crossing my fingers.

3. Scrappy Court House Steps

The top is finished and ready to be quilted.

On a different note, my AMH Dresden Plate won the Hand Quilted Category in The Blogger's Quilt Festival. I was the runner-up, the talented Wendy @Wendy's Quilts and More won in three different categories!! Because of Amy's policy of sharing prizes among winners, I will be receiving the prize from the hand quilted category. I won a bundle of patterns from Prairie Grass Patterns, and as soon as it arrives, I will be sharing one pattern with one of you. Stay tuned for my giveaway!
